As Missourians know, this is the Show-Me State indicating our devotion to common sense – an excellent trait for any paralegal. In 2008, the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor estimated Missouri to have over 4,600 paralegals and legal assistants working in the state.
The profession is also considered to have a much faster-than-average employment growth with an expected twenty-eight percent (28%) increase in the next 10 years. Common sense would dictate that the Missouri Paralegal Association is beneficial for such a large, growing group of workers.
The Missouri Paralegal Association (MPA) is a professional organization established in 1987. We are an association committed to the preservation and continued growth of the paralegal profession and are an affiliate of The National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA).
The purpose of the Missouri Paralegal Association is to serve paralegals and to advance the paralegal profession by:
As a paralegal belonging to the Missouri Paralegal Association, you have chosen to be a paralegal as your career, not just as a job.

As part of our ongoing effort to provide support and growth to the members and the MPA, we created an email list group where MPA members can come together to post about topics involving the legal community, questions you may have about how to better perform in your position, how changes in the legal community impact our careers, and in general, strengthen networking and collaborating for all MPA members across the state.
Join the MPA eGroup and you are instantly in touch with every MPA member – we currently have over 60 subscribed members. Members are welcome to post questions they have regarding their work, their careers, or the legal field, in general. It’s a great place to find the support you may need that you might not have.
If you want to join, email me with “subscribe MPA eGroup” in your subject line and I will add you to the eGroup, OR, if you are a current MPA member, you can join the MPA eGroup by clicking the “JOIN” button, below and follow directions.
